We develop Courage, Leadership, and Self Discipline.

An Army Cadet goes beyond being just a youth leader; they strive to embody professionalism and gain unique experiences. Our team of staffing officers and civilian instructors impart valuable leadership skills that will equip young individuals to face any challenges that lie ahead. Our training encompasses both classroom lectures and hands-on activities, creating a comprehensive Cadet experience. We foster dedication, mutual respect, and positive personal conduct among all members of our organization, ensuring that their experiences are positive and memorable. Our staff is committed to developing the highest qualities in all cadets, making their personal growth our utmost priority. Ultimately, the level of success achieved is determined by the effort and quality put into reaching it.

Commanding Officers Message

The Army Cadet program is a collaborative initiative between the Department of National Defence and the Army Cadet League of Canada.

For more than 50 years, the #11 Strathroy Army Cadets have been actively involved in Strathroy. This is a nationwide program designed for young Canadians aged 12 to 18 who are interested in engaging in various enjoyable, challenging, and fulfilling activities while gaining knowledge about the Army operations within the Canadian Armed Forces. The program encourages cadets to become proactive and responsible members of their communities. They consistently contribute to Canadian society through daily involvement in environmental, citizenship, and community activities. Additionally, cadets acquire valuable life and professional skills such as teamwork, leadership, and civic engagement.

Our team consists of experienced Reserve CIC Officers, supported by a dedicated group of Civilian Instructors, Volunteers, and retired and currently serving Canadian Forces members. All individuals involved in the program have extensive experience in overseeing its operations and have undergone thorough security screening. The program itself is designed to progressively develop cadets' skills and behavior over the course of their participation. In the initial years, cadets learn fundamental cadet skills and conduct. Subsequent years prioritize leadership development and instructional techniques, with qualified cadets assuming significant responsibilities for day-to-day instruction and corps operations. Additionally, the program includes a summer training component, offering multiple training opportunities for cadets to ultimately qualify for staff positions.

We will strive to cultivate a sense of camaraderie among our cadets and promote a positive atmosphere of growth and development. Our ultimate goal is to create strong, confident and responsible leaders who are prepared to serve their country and community.
